Cabin Creek Interiors has been part of the Central Virginia community for decades, and over the years it grew into what it is today: a design studio and design center where clients can get expert guidance and access to the products, materials, and resources that make a project come together.
When Michael Maszaros took ownership in 2012, Cabin Creek continued to evolve – building a reputation for personalized service, customization, and a process that respects both the client’s time and the reality of how people live. Today, we’re known for helping clients make confident decisions, blending existing pieces with new selections, and managing the details from concept to completion.

Owner & Principal DesignerA Richmond native and a graduate from the University of Virginia, Michael has been designing custom interiors since 2003. He is President of the Richmond Chapter of the International Furnishing & Design Association for 2016, and previously worked creating unique soft furnishings for clients in central Virginia from Williamsburg to Wintergreen. He took over Cabin Creek in 2012 and has expanded its services to include full-custom interior design. Enthusiastic and creative, Michael is always looking for the best solution to solve any decorating and design dilemma and especially loves tackling challenging projects. The child of two designers (furniture and fashion), his love for the arts and interiors has been with him throughout his life.

As a minimalist who believes “less is more”, Joy discovers the beauty of simplicity, exploring the possibilities of compact spaces using modern technology.
With unmatched organizational skills, she manages the sample library and essential “backstage” office tasks, to ensure smooth project execution prioritizing client comfort and efficient service.
Danny Medina
Junior DesignerDanny Medina comes from a long history of Visual Management and Interior Decoration. He is a Certified Interior Decorator through the University of Richmond, and his eye for color and texture lends a personal touch to each of his projects. Working with him, you will feel his passion for design and his expertise with color.
Karen Smith
Junior DesignerWith years of experience designing custom furniture, window treatments, and framing solutions for fine art, Karen has an innate eye for good and solid design. Her friendly and intuitive nature makes the collaborative process fun and easy, resulting in personalized designs that celebrate her client's style. Karen is certified in Interior Decorating by the University of Richmond.

Benjamin Moore Paint DepartmentTerrie runs Cabin Creek's Benjamin Moore Paint department and is the go-to resource for both homeowners and contractors. With decades of hands-on experience, she helps customers choose the right products, finishes, and solutions for every kind of project. If you've got a paint question, Terrie's the person who can answer it clearly and confidently.
